My friend Theresa from Boots Boots Boutique posted this up on her timeline and I absolutely adored it! It got me to thinking that I must start my own bucket list with my kids for the summer. I listed some websites and ideas to help you get started on your list! Feel free to comment below with some more ideas to help other parents in our area!

  1. International Music Nights at Lakeside Theater- Click HERE for dates.
  2. Check out a new pool in Nassau County- Click HERE for hours and locations
  3. Visit Old Bethpage Village Restoration 
  4. Visit the Merrick Preserve
  5. Take swimming lessons- click HERE and ask for Macaroni Kid special
  6. Take a trip to Fire Island
  7. Day trip to Teddy Roosevelt's house at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site
  8. Spend some time at Musuem Row: Long Island Children's Museum and Nassau County Firefighter's Museum and Cradle of Aviation
  9. Join in the fun at Old Westbury Gardens
  10. Have some family fun at the Hofstra University Museum
  11. Day trip into New York City- East Side, Upper West Side, Lower Manhattan
  12. Explore the castles and trails at Sands Point Park and Preserve
  13. See a Polo Match at Bethpage Polo Grounds
  14. Travel around Long Beach
  15. See a free movie and the animals at Tackapausha Preserve
  16. "Play" with the wild animals at Central Park Zoo
  17. Have an adventure in the Bronx at the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Gardens and then eat in Little Italy!

  19. Spend a weekend in the Hamptons
  20. Check out the fun at The Vanderbilt Museum
  21. Camp out in the backyard!

  25. See a show at the Jones Beach Bandshell
