Book Review: Flowers and Bubbles

A Story about Coping with Anger and Frustration

By Eileen Diener May 8, 2014
Nana and Grandpa Sol own a shop called Flowers and Bubbles.  Their grandson, Charlie learns an important lesson about anger and frustration in his visits. The secrets of Nana's flowers and Grandpa Sol's bubbles will help him as he learns to cope with his own anger.

This book was a great read for both myself and my children.  It is a simple story with an important lesson for those that are quick tempered and emotional.  I will admit, my youngest has a low tolerance level when it comes to doing things for herself.  She easily gets frustrated, like most kids, when she cannot complete a task.  Slowly teaching her to take deep breaths and cool off will hopefully get her patience level to rise.

I highly recommend this book to all parents that is in need of teaching their children the value of calmly breathing and thinking about their feelings before blowing up and getting upset.  It not only is great for parents, but teachers, social workers and therapists as well.  The book is a great tool in teaching children.
