Cool Tech Toys for the Holidays

By Eric Cohen - Macaroni Dad October 30, 2014
With the holidays around the corner, our friends at WowWee sent us a few tech toys to review and share with readers. For holiday fun with a techy them, here’s a few toys to add to your list. They are available at Target, ToysRUs & Walmart and your local toy store.

Remember Troll dolls from your youth? Well, WowWee has jazzed them up…literally. The cool thing about ElektroKidz is that they groove to the music when they hear a beat. There are six different versions of the ElextroKidz, each with funky hair, shades and style all their own. They are for ages 6 and up, and I think that’s pretty appropriate. Younger kids will appreciate the fun, tweens will think they are cool, and adults will appreciate the nostalgia.

Next up is the adorable Noomie (pronounced new-me). This remote control robot ups the cuteness factor to 11. Loaded with 450 sounds, adorable accessories like bows, cowboy hat, binky & more, the Noomie is sure to please.

Upping the sophistication a bit is the Tipster, a playful robot that allows kids (and adults) to experiment with weights and balance. Tipster is billed as “my first robot” and has different game modes to allow preschools to direct it, and grade school age kids to up the challenges with trick and games. It comes with ladders and character pieces that you can balance and affix to the toy. Your kids may learn about balance and add to their dexterity while having fun, a nice combo.
